Membership Services Manager - South West & South Wales
Kris joined BIGGA in July 2023 after a number of years working as a sports apprenticeship officer and rugby coach. He has made over 100 Welsh Premiership appearances for Ebbw Vale RFC and is currently captain of Pontypridd RFC.
I have worked in the greenkeeping industry for 22 years, having started my career at Woodhall Spa GC in 2000, before taking on my current role of Head Greenkeeper at Newquay GC in 2014.
Whilst at Woodhall Spa I was involved in the preparation and set up for many prestigious amateur events including the English Amateur Championship, Brabazon Trophy and Home Internationals.
I have served on both the BIGGA Devon and Cornwall section committee and the South West and South Wales Regional Board for the past couple of years before taking on the role of Regional Chairperson earlier this year.
Greenkeeping is a career I am passionate about and feel it is important to invest my time to see the industry grow.

Jobs Available in South Wales & South West
I got into greenkeeping in 2002 following a discussion with my now father-in-law about the industry. Since then I have worked at various clubs around London and Surrey, as well as dipping my toe into being a groundsman.
I moved to the South West in 2021 and am currently the Head Greenkeeper at Worlebury GC in Weston-super-Mare.
BIGGA has done a lot for my career, from helping me gain a Jacobsen scholarship to completing my FdSc in Sports turf management through Myerscough. I have also had the opportunity to be a Bernhards delegate to Orlando in 2017. I have also had the privilege to be included in The Open support team and BMW Wentworth support team on various occasions.
A greenkeeper since 16 years of age, Robin has worked at varying levels of courses in his career including a number of high profile courses and events. His career has seen him work in the UK, Ireland, Continental Europe, and America. A HND graduate in golf Course Management from Elmwood College in 2005, Robin has been a Course Manager for over 14 years.
An active CPD member, Robin is always looking to not only further himself and improve as a greenkeeper but also to promote the greenkeeping industry and further the careers of those who work for him and within the industry.
BIGGA have been a great help to me since the beginning of my career in greenkeeping – in various ways and means. I wanted to give something back and help encourage other greenkeepers to receive the support I have and to progress. So I have been involved with Bigga at different times and roles since 2016, and I still thoroughly enjoy it.
I’ve been a greenkeeper since 2007 and I’m currently in my first head greenkeeper role. I am passionate about seeing greenkeepers and our industry progress and receive the recognition we deserve.
Outside of greenkeeping I love running and following as much sport as possible!
