BIGGA - leading the way with sustainable practices
As environmental concerns grow, so does our responsibility to save resources, reduce our impact and support biodiversity. BIGGA is committed to leading the way with sustainable practices across our industry on the golf course, in BIGGA HQ, and throughout BTME.

Energy Efficiency
We’re reducing emissions by promoting the use of hybrid and electric vehicles, prioritising digital communications, and supporting low-impact activities across our operations.
Digital Transformation
We’re cutting down on paper and plastic by moving membership cards and the BIGGA Membership Handbook online. Members can also choose to receive Greenkeeper International magazine in a digital-only format.

Sustainable Events
At Continue to Learn and BTME, we actively reduce waste by offering water in aluminium cans and providing on-site recycling. We are committed to phasing out single-use plastics and making our events as low-impact as possible.
Education & Research
Through BTME and Continue to Learn, we deliver expert-led seminars focused on climate challenges, resource management, innovative seed technology, and how to meet golfer expectations while prioritising sustainability.

Actionable Strategies
Our events showcase practical, real-world examples of sustainable practices. We share proven solutions that greenkeepers can take back to their courses and put into action straight away.
Community Engagement
We encourage and support greenkeepers to lead sustainability initiatives within their clubs and local communities. Together, we’re creating a network of environmentally responsible professionals.

Leading by Example
BIGGA and BTME are proud to be driving the future of sustainable greenkeeping—sharing knowledge, offering inspiration, and providing practical advice to help our members make a meaningful difference on the ground.
