The Worcestershire Golf Club, one of the oldest clubs in England set in a picturesque setting at the foot of the Malvern Hills, south west of Worcester city centre and is seeking a dedicated Mechanic/Turf equipment technician to join our progressive greens team. This is a unique opportunity to work at a fantastic forward thinking private members club that continues to develop in all areas, the club has just invested over 200k to build a purpose built 150m2 workshop facility including Bernhard grinders and lift.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated individual with strong mechanical skills and a passion for producing high quality playing surfaces. You will manage machinery maintenance while assisting the greenkeeping team by preparing equipment for use each day. This full time position is based on 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. The club is committed to providing development and progression for all staff.

Key Responsibilities:
-
Machinery Maintenance & Workshop Duties
-
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on the club’s machinery fleet (including electric and autonomous units)

Comply with all relevant health & safety legislation
-
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
-
Maintain accurate servicing records and assist with machinery lifecycle planning
-
Ensure workshop areas are kept safe, organised and tidy
-
Research, order and manage stocks of parts, consumables, and workshop materials, working to an approved budget
-
The ability to prioritise work in conjunction with golf course maintenance needs
-
Fabricate miscellaneous items to help improve the efficiency of the golf course maintenance operation

Perform diagnostics, repairs and servicing of equipment both in the workshop and in the field when required

Carry out inspection checks on new and used machines

Essential

A good attitude and work ethic towards teamwork, independent working and communication

Reliable, motivated, and committed to high standards

A strong mechanical aptitude with experience in servicing and maintaining machinery

A comprehensive understanding of, and commitment to, health & safety and related procedures

The ability to work early mornings and weekends occasionally if needed

Driving license

Relevant machinery/mechanical qualifications

Be familiar with a wide range of golf course equipment

Knowledge and experience of operating cylinder grinding machines

Experience of operating welding equipment
