Assistant Greenkeeper - Sandwell Park Golf Club – West Midlands
Sandwell Park Golf Club is seeking a motivated and ambitious Assistant Greenkeeper to join the greenkeeping team and play a key role in the ongoing development of the course.
The club is entering an exciting period of investment and long-term improvement following a recent design audit by Mackenzie & Ebert, which will guide a programme of course enhancements over the coming years.
In addition, the club has recently installed a new Toro Lynx irrigation system, which is currently being commissioned ahead of the upcoming season. These developments demonstrate the club’s commitment to continually improving course conditioning and presentation for members and visitors.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Golf Course Supervisor and assist in the day-to-day activities of the greenkeeping team while maintaining high standards across the course.
Key Responsibilities:

Working as a cohesive unit alongside the greenkeeping team and under the direction of the Course Supervisor

Supporting the delivery of the club’s course development plans

Maintaining high standards of course presentation and conditioning

Operating and maintaining turf machinery and equipment

Assisting with irrigation system monitoring, repair and maintenance

Promoting safe and efficient working practices across the team
Candidate Requirements:
-
NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf / Greenkeeping

NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf / Greenkeeping (or working towards)

PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates
-
Full UK driving license
-
Good IT and communication skills

Experience with irrigation systems

Good working knowledge of fine turf machinery

Chainsaw certificates (CS30 / CS31) beneficial
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum.
