Reelsharp is a fast-growing horticultural service company specialising in on-site cylinder mower sharpening. We bring our mobile grinders directly to our customers’ sites, keeping their machines in top condition without transport or downtime.
Our clients include golf courses, sports clubs, councils, and professional grounds teams across the UK. We pride ourselves on providing a professional, reliable, and customer-focused service.
Role Purpose
As a Mobile Cylinder Mower Sharpening Technician, you’ll be the face of Reelsharp on-site — delivering high-quality sharpening services using our mobile grinding equipment. You’ll ensure our customers’ machines are operating at their best and that every visit reflects our commitment to exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate mobile grinding machinery to sharpen cylinder mowers and cutting units

Visit customer sites (golf courses, sports facilities, and councils)

Inspect equipment, identify issues, and advise customers on maintenance where needed

Maintain accurate service records and report work completed

Manage stock, tools, and consumables in your van to ensure operational readiness

Provide excellent customer service and represent Reelsharp’s brand values at all times

Follow all health and safety protocols, both company and site-specific

Support the wider Reelsharp team and contribute to continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
Essential:
-
Experience working with turf maintenance machinery (e.g. cylinder mowers, grinders, or workshop equipment)

Good mechanical knowledge and hands-on practical skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Full UK driving licence
-
Self-motivated with strong time management and organisational skills
Desirable:

Previous experience in cylinder grinding or mower maintenance
-
Experience working in golf, groundskeeping, or turf care industries

Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication
