BIGGA backs Women in Golf Awards

BIGGA has reaffirmed its commitment to women across golf and greenkeeping by sponsoring the Women in Turfcare category at the 2026 Women in Golf Awards.

This year’s awards will take place at Belton Woods Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort on 27 November, with organisers expecting more than 200 guests from across the industry.

The programme features nine categories recognising achievement in areas including leadership, coaching, content creation and initiatives supporting women in golf. England Golf, The PGA, the Golf Club Management Association and the British Golf Industry Association are among the award sponsors.

BIGGA’s involvement builds on BIGGA Elevates, which was launched at BTME 2026, in collaboration with The R&A and Syngenta, and provides opportunities for women in golf and turfcare to share experiences, access guidance and develop supportive professional connections.

BIGGA Commercial Director Lauren Frazer said: “Women are making an enormous contribution across greenkeeping and the wider golf industry, and it’s important that their achievements are recognised. Our support for the award sits alongside our wider commitment to helping women connect, develop confidence and progress in their careers. We want more women to see the opportunities within greenkeeping and feel supported.”

Last year’s Women in Turfcare Award was won by Raglan Course Manager Lucy Sellick. The award recognised her role in transforming the Welsh venue from a near-dormant site into a thriving club.

Women in Golf Awards founder Nicole Wheatley said the backing of organisations allowed the event to offer free spaces for women under 30, fund free education sessions and support industry-changing research.

She said: “What started as an attempt to find a place for women to connect and celebrate achievement has transformed into an industry-wide movement for change.”
