Location: La Grande Mare Country Club, Guernsey, Channel Islands
 
Salary: £14 ph including accommodation
 
Job Type: Full time, 6 months, April to September
 
 
About Us:
 
La Grande Mare is presently undergoing a comprehensive redevelopment project that includes the construction of a new 18-hole golf course in collaboration with European Golf Design and M J Abbots. Additionally, the project encompasses a revamped greenkeeping compound, a state-of-the-art Golf Performance Centre, a modern Country Club, a Health club, and enhanced accommodation. Upon completion, La Grande Mare will emerge as a premier golfing destination, offering a world-class golf course and exceptional facilities.
 
 
Job description:
 
As a seasoned Greenkeeper, you will have the exceptional opportunity to work on the newly constructed golf course designed to the highest standards. Utilising cutting-edge technology, including the advanced Toro irrigation system, new fleet of machinery, and modern welfare facilities, you will play a key role in supporting the greenkeeping team as we prepare the course in readiness for opening in August 2026.
 
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Routine maintenance including mowing greens, fairways and roughs
  • Maintaining existing and new areas
  • Operate machinery, ensuring safe and effective use
  • Assist with irrigation
  • Apply fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides as required
  • Collaborate with the Course Manager and Head Greenkeeper
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 2 qualification in turf management and golf greenkeeping (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Ability to operate greenkeeping equipment and machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations in groundskeeping
