Qualified Greenkeeper

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Course Manager in ensuring the golf course is maintained to highest possible standards, within agreed budgets.
• Assist the Course Manager to carry out appropriate maintenance and treatment of grasses and soils throughout the year.
• Identify and control pests, weeds and diseases.
• Assist and deliver construction projects in accordance with instruction from the CM.
• Supervise, monitor and report on any works undertaken by third party contractors.
• Attend meetings and relevant training courses when required.
• Trained and very proficient in operating and maintaining heavy and light machinery.
• Excellent understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
• Maintain an excellent understanding of the course irrigation system.
• Undertaking other appropriate duties as required by the Course Manager and the company.
• Inspect the course, diagnose and take any remedial action required.

• Ideally qualified to NVQ Level Two.
• Certificates PA1, PA2 and PA6M, desirable.
• Chainsaw cross cutting and maintenance, desirable.
• At least 2 years appropriate Greenkeeping experience.
• The ability to use your own initiative when working alone.
• Exemplary communication and time management skills.
• Trustworthy, reliable, enthusiastic and a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Hold a desire to continue your own professional development through appropriate training.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Up to date with modern advances in greenkeeping, by being a member of BIGGA.
• Construction and design skills.
• A sound understanding of the game of golf.
