This important role has recently become available as BIGGA look for an individual to actively engage and support members of the Association across the Central England Region.
Reporting to the Head of Membership, the role will be primarily home-based. The job holder needs to be able to travel around their Region conveniently from their home location and overnight stays will be necessary on occasion.
Purpose of the job:
BIGGA is a membership organisation representing golf greenkeepers, with around 6,500 members from across the industry. Members join to access benefits, pursue education and career development, build networks, and support the advancement of their profession.
The primary purpose of this role is to engage with and support members in the Central England Region while ensuring effective regional governance. The MSM will develop strong relationships with members, helping them get the most from their BIGGA membership by encouraging participation in activities such as education, career development, networking and employment support. The MSM is also responsible for facilitating efficient and compliant governance within the Region.
Key Regional Responsibilities:

Act as a people‑focused ambassador for BIGGA, building positive relationships across the Region and supporting members to feel connected, engaged, and valued.

Lead the smooth administration of the Region, including preparing Board agendas and papers, attending meetings, taking minutes, and providing regular updates.

Work closely with the Regional Chairperson and Region Director, ensuring strong communication, insight sharing, and operational alignment.

Prepare the annual regional budget and manage ongoing financial administration, including producing annual accounts.

Engage with members through in‑person visits, calls, emails, social media, and online platforms, providing exceptional service and timely support.

Develop and maintain an active regional presence on social media, sharing relevant information, opportunities, and updates.

Support local volunteer groups to deliver high‑quality member events such as golf days, education seminars, course walks, and networking sessions.

Promote and coordinate member opportunities across the industry, including partner initiatives, scholarships, competitions, volunteering, and leadership programmes.

Support members’ professional and personal development by signposting welfare, employment, and career‑advancement services

Deliver regional events, communications, and Partner‑linked initiatives, including Conferences, Roadshows, and newsletters.

Work with membership & administration teams on recruitment, retention, and engagement, including outreach to lapsed members.

Champion the greenkeeping profession and uphold welfare and recognition standards across the Region.

Actively promote BIGGA’s mission, values, and role within the industry.

Contribute to the delivery of First Green and other workforce related programmes within the Region.

Provide monthly activity reports and support the MSM team by capturing actions and notes on a rotational basis.
What we’re looking for:

Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with members, other departments, industry and trade partners, and sponsors

A good knowledge of business practices, administration, meeting procedures, customer service skills and techniques

Strong attention to detail

Strong communication, written and verbal skills - including presentation skills

Organised, flexible and able to manage multiple deadlines

IT literate: Microsoft Office suite and social media channels
Desirable

Understanding of the greenkeeping industry

Understanding of a membership organisation(s)

Additional requirements:

Ability to travel and attend events

UK driving licence
Competitive basic salary with OTE, based on qualifications & experience

Home based, with travel and overnight stays

Working hours: Monday – Thursday 8:45 - 17:00, Friday 8:45 - 16:30
