Irrigation Technician
Sunningdale Golf Club are recruiting a qualified Irrigation Technician. Working as part of a world class team, this role will be responsible for the daily operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of the estate irrigation system, ensuring efficient water distribution for optimal turf health and playing conditions while adhering to water conservation practices.
Sunningdale Golf Club is widely regarded as having two of the best and most beautiful courses in the British Isles. The Club has a proud history of hosting tournament golf, having recently held the Curtis Cup, the Sunningdale Foursomes, and the Senior Open.

Minimum qualification of NVQ level 2/College diploma

Minimum of 3 years actively working in the irrigation industry installing, commissioning and repairing systems

Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to irrigation systems, pumps and control systems

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to diagnose and repair complex system malfunctions

Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with managers and team members

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, perform physical labour including digging and lifting reasonable weights and the ability to operate appropriate mechanical equipment

Valid driving license is essential, and a recognised Irrigation Technician certificate is preferred

System Operation and Monitoring: Operate, program and monitor the computerised central control system (Rainbird Cirrus Pro IC) to adjust watering schedules and run times based on weather conditions, soil moisture levels and turf requirements

Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine inspections, maintenance and repairs of all irrigation components including pipes (polyethylene), valves, rotors, controllers, pump sets and electrical wiring

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correct electrical and mechanical faults in the irrigation control systems and pump stations

Installation: Assist in the installation of new irrigation systems or system upgrades/ modifications to improve efficiency

Safety: Incorporate safe working practices in all job performance and report any hazardous conditions immediately
This is a full-time contract based on an average 40 hours per week on a rota which includes weekends.
