Head Greenkeeper
COLCHESTER GOLF CLUB – JOB PROFILE HEAD GREENKEEPER
Introduction to Colchester Golf Club
Colchester Golf Club was founded in 1907 with our beautiful, tree-lined course designed by 5-times Open Champion James Braid, currently ranked 7th best in Essex.
Situated one mile north of the town, CGC's fast-running, well established fairways provide a wonderful test of golf. The parkland course is 6,357 yards long with two par-5s, four par-3s and a par of 70 (73 for ladies). Our subtly contoured greens are acknowledged as some of the very best in the County, and we have recently installed a state-of-the-art irrigation system to keep our tees, greens, aprons and surrounds in fine condition.
This is reflected by the Club hosting numerous prestigious events such as the Essex Open (PGA), the Essex Amateur Championship, the East Anglian Amateur Championship and the prestigious Eastern Region PGA Championship and the Eastern Region Championship Pro-Am.
Our Academy with a 9-hole par 3 course, all-weather driving bays, 300-yard grass-tee driving range and short game area, provides the perfect warm up, practice or beginner golf facility, exclusively for the use of members and their guests.
