Hampton Court Palace - Deputy Course Manager 

Get Golfing is seeking a Deputy Course Manager to join their team at Hampton Court Palace. Get Golfing CIO owns and operates a network of golf courses across the country, providing golf enthusiasts with exceptional golfing experiences. As Deputy Course Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the golf course and ensuring a high-quality playing surface for golfers.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Greenkeeper in the planning, execution, and supervision of all course maintenance activities (mowing, irrigation, aeration, top dressing, pest/disease control, etc.)
  • Lead and mentor a team of greenkeepers and assistants, ensuring high standards of work, safety, and efficiency
  • Manage daily workflows, staff rotas, and equipment maintenance schedules
  • Oversee turf health, drainage, and surface preparation, with a focus on delivering consistent playing quality across 18 holes
  • Implement and monitor sustainable practices, including water management, integrated pest management, and environmental compliance
  • Assist in budgeting, procurement of materials, and record-keeping for course operations
  • Liaise with members, visitors, and other departments to address feedback and maintain positive relationships
  • Support major projects (e.g., bunker renovations, tee rebuilds, path works) and winter maintenance programmes
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, COSHH, and Get Golfing policies
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Deputy Course Manager, Assistant Head Greenkeeper, or similar supervisory role in golf course maintenance
  • Strong practical knowledge of turf management, agronomy, and modern greenkeeping techniques
  • Experience managing teams, rotas, and equipment in a busy golf environment o Relevant qualifications (e.g., PA1/PA2 spraying certificates, BIGGA training, or equivalent)
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and flexible hours (including weekends)
  • Passion for delivering outstanding course conditions and a positive member experience
  • Full UK driving licence o Irrigation knowledge
