Assistant Greenkeeper (Full-Time)

Moor Allerton Golf Club is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Greenkeeper to join our established and progressive Greens Team.

As a well-respected members’ club, we pride ourselves on delivering high standards of course presentation and playability throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual to further develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.

 

The Role:
Working closely with the Head Greenkeeper and wider team, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance and development.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Daily course set up and preparation
  • Operation and maintenance of a wide range of turf machinery
  • Application of fertilisers and plant protection products (where qualified)
  • Irrigation management and course improvement projects
  • Contributing to the continued high standards of course presentation
  • Carrying out all renovation and maintenance tasks such as aeration, topdressing and seeding.
  • Working daily with USGA Greens and contributing to an ongoing bunker redevelopment project.

The Candidate:
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about greenkeeping and committed to producing high-quality playing surfaces, while having a good understanding of the game of golf.

Essential:

  • Have or working towards NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Sports Turf / Greenkeeping
  • Previous experience within a golf course environment
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management
  • PA1, PA2, PA6 spraying certificates
  • Chainsaw certification

Hours of Work:
