Raglan Revival Earns Award Recognition for Lucy
Lucy Sellick was “deeply honoured” to receive the Women in Turfcare Award at the Women in Golf Awards following her outstanding work in bringing Raglan back to life.

The recognition follows an intensive redevelopment of the Welsh venue, with Lucy and her team helping to shape Raglan from a near-dormant site into a thriving club with a rapidly growing membership. Her leadership through the rebuild has been central to the club’s revival and earned wide praise within the industry, culminating in her triumph at Foxhills G&CC.
“I’m deeply honoured to receive this award,” said Lucy. “This recognition is particularly meaningful as it coincides with our club’s inaugural year of operation, a testament to the collective vision, dedication and diligent efforts of our entire team.
“The journey of establishing and launching the club has presented its share of challenges and triumphs, and this award truly symbolises our shared accomplishments.”
One of 10 winners, Lucy added: “It is wonderful to see the hard work and contributions of women in the turf industry being celebrated. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to our sponsors, BIGGA and Syngenta, whose invaluable support continues to foster progress and expand opportunities for everyone involved.”
The ceremony also saw the awards’ first double winner, Aimi Bullock, who took both the Rising Star and Unsung Hero Awards for her work with golf and disability. Meanwhile, the special recognition awards, given to women who have paved the way for others, went to Jane Carter, whose career spans four groundbreaking decades, and Jackie Davidson, in recognition of her inspirational work at The R&A with The Women in Golf Charter and The Women in Golf Leadership Development Programme.
“Year on year, we uncover stories about women who are shaping the future of the industry. The competition this year was incredibly fierce; any one of the finalists would have been a worthy winner,” said awards founder Nicole Wheatley.
