BIGGA Excellence in Communications Awards sponsored by Campey Turf Care Systems

BIGGA and Campey Turf Care Systems have teamed up to offer one BIGGA member a money-can’t-buy trip to Jacksonville, Florida.

The Excellence in Communications Awards recognise the important role that effective communication plays in the life of a modern greenkeeper. BIGGA members are getting better and better at communicating and we want to acknowledge those who are leading the way.

The main prize is the Innovation and Thought Leadership Category. This features a monthly prize whereby if you write an article and send it along for inclusion in Greenkeeper International and it’s chosen to be featured in the magazine, you’ll win a £100 Continue to Learn voucher.

Then at the end of the year we’ll take a look at all the features we’ve received and select our favourite, with the winner receiving a £750 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to Jacksonville, Florida, courtesy of Campey Turf Care Systems. While on the trip you’ll visit the Air2G@ factory, TPC Sawgrass, the Daytona International Speedway and TIAA Bank Field, the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

There are also two other prizes up for grabs. The New Media Award recognises the growing importance of social media and other digital platforms to the greenkeeping profession. Whether you’re using social media, podcasts, blogging, video content or anything else to engage with golfers, we want to hear from you.

Finally, the Outreach award recognises that face-to-face communication is just as important as any other form. We’re seeking to recognise those BIGGA members who have engaged with their local community, whether by inviting schoolchildren to take part in ecology days, getting involved in local fundraisers, or anything else.

The winners of the New Media and the Outreach awards will both receive a £400 cash prize, with the winners to be revealed on the Campey Turf Care Systems stand at BTME 2020.
