9.00am to 9.50am - Arrival and networking with tea and coffee.

9.50am to 9.55am - Introduction to cover H&S and CPD points for BIGGA and Basis

9.55am to 10.10am – Andrew Wight – Update of Apprenticeships standards for Golf and Sports turf

10.10am - 11.10am: Sophie Olejnik – Ecological Consultant – Sophie has over seven years’ experience in ecology and has worked on projects across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Ireland, in both upland and lowland environments. Sophie regularly works with golf clubs to provide ecological surveys and reports for both planning and general habitat management.

10.10am - 11.10am: Guest Speaker TBC

11.10 to 11.15 – 5 min comfort break changeover of speaker.

11.15pm - 12.15pm: Matthew Plested – Golf Course Manager – Stoneham Golf Club. Matt has been greenkeeping for 28+ years and has spent the last – years developing the course at Stoneham GC (ranked 59 in the top 100), carrying out extensive heather restoration, pathways, and course construction projects. Matt will be providing an overview of some of the projects and activities he has overseen since his arrival at the club both regarding the course as well as staff facilities.

12.15 to 1.15pm – Lunch

1.15pm - 2.15pm: Lee Cox – Course Manager Mill Hill GC – Lee has been busy installing drainage across the whole of Mill Hill GC. Lee and his team has helped install – miles of drainage to fairways and rough, c.40 miles of gravel banding over the course as well as installing Lighting System 25 on greens, Lee will discuss the issues involved in such an operation and the benefits he has seen.
