Qualified/Experienced Greenkeeper
Job Summary
To carry out all job tasks set by the management team (Director of Agronomy and our Golf Course Superintendent). To maintain the golf course to the standards required by the management team while not disrupting, interfering unnecessarily with the golfer’s experience.
The primary responsibility of all our Agronomy team is to deliver an international quality golf course for our members and guests to experience. Under the direction of the Director of Agronomy, the employee is responsible for assisting our maintenance team colleagues in completing scheduled tasks on site in a timely and acceptable standard through onsite supervision and using a friendly and professional manner.
The Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club (RAGGC), home of The ISPS Handa Japan Australasian Championship, is a private member golf club in Auckland, New Zealand. We are currently looking for a Qualified or experienced Greenkeeper to join our Agronomy team to broaden their agronomy opportunities at a leading turf maintenance facility with an impressive inventory of specialist turf machinery and equipment.
RAGGC is a 27-hole facility with three (3) separate 9-hole courses. We have 34 bentgrass greens on the property along with approximately 2.5ha of bentgrass tees and approximately 25ha of Bermuda grass fairways. We also have exciting technology such as SubAir, Better Billy Bunker, Rainbird irrigation, moisture management systems (Pogo), Human resource and consumable tracking software (Task Tracker), drone technology and of course extremely high-quality turf.
Since 1894 our golf club has a proud and long history and has recently completed a major rebuild project. Our playing surfaces are world-class, and we are looking for a positive individual who wants to learn new skills under a team of very accomplished turf managers. Our entire agronomy team at RAGGC operate with very high standards and have a very high attention to detail. Our large team have excellent communication skills and value our team ethics. Our colleagues have enormous pride in our workmanship but always take the opportunity to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. Any new staff member must have a similar outlook. Candidates must have pride in their workmanship, must be a team player, be able to embrace change and have a desire to grow professionally.
We DON’T expect candidates to know everything! However, we DO expect candidates to ask questions and want to learn.
