Heswall Golf Club is a private 18 hole members Golf Club, established in 1902, on the Wirral Peninsula with stunning views across the Dee Estuary to Wales.
 
The Club has recently undertaken a programme of significant investment and development, including the total replacement of its irrigation system, and installation of new drainage on numerous holes which will be ongoing in subsequent years.
 
On a personal level, the Course Manager and Club are keen to ensure a programme of continual and ongoing development and training for all members of green staff.
 
Our Course Manager, supported by the Deputy and the rest of the team has developed a greenkeeping team with a strong work ethos, and have achieved significant results in the past twelve months in terms of course presentation and condition.
 
We are currently recruiting for a full time Qualified Greenkeeper to work within our team.
 
The successful candidate will have an excellent work ethic, dedication, a passion for the role, a keen eye to detail and be comfortable working as part of a team.
 
 
 Candidate requirements:
  • Display a high standard of greenkeeping skills
  • Have a varied and extensive knowledge in all aspects of course maintenance
  • Have an ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment
  • Be self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Show a strong work ethic, and desire to develop their knowledge and skills
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, members, guests and visitors
  • Have knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety theory and compliance
  • Be punctual and have a flexible approach to working hours including bank holidays and weekends on a rota basis
Ideal candidate will possess:
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • Minimum three years greenkeeping experience
  • PA1,2,6 spraying certificates
  • A keen eye for detail in all aspects of work
  • An understanding of the game of golf
  • A team player
Advantageous, but not essential:
  • NVQ Level 3 or above Greenkeeping
  • Chainsaw certificates
