Bolton Old Links continues to strive towards excellence in all areas on the golf course. With planning approval for a new clubhouse in place. All year-round playability and golf course presentation are key part to the club’s objectives.
 
The Course Manager is instrumental in this objective and will be part of the current management team who run the business on a day to day basis. The right candidate should be highly motivated, have excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
 
Bolton Old Links Golf Club prides itself on being forward-thinking, with a clear vision to develop and improve the course year on year. In the last few years, the club has drained, lined and reshaped virtually all the bunkers, along with repositioning many. There are further plans in place to extend holes to gain more yardage and attract larger championships after successfully hosting the Lancashire County Championships in 2023. Further projects included a new practice ground and short game area is due to be sent for planning approval through a spoil tipping scheme.
 

The successful candidate is to continue with the current plans and maintain what is already a high level of playing surfaces.

Applicants will need to have the following attributes:
  • Minimum of 3 years· experience as a deputy or course manager
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or higher in Greenkeeping & Sports Turf   Management
  • Evidence of Active and Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • Spraying certification PA1. 2 and 6
  • CS30. 31 Chainsaw
  • Strong knowledge of turf management. irrigation systems. agronomy. disease control. and machinery operation
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Strategic and budgetary planning skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good working knowledge and ability to implement Health and Safety processes and legislation
  • Ability to work as part of a team and develop and motivate the team's individual competencies
