Assistant Greenkeeper

ASSISTANT GREENKEEPER - Selsey Golf Club, Chichester, West Sussex

Selsey Golf Club is a challenging 9-hole course, which is approximately 1 mile from the sea therefore giving a very links feel and challenge to players and green staff.

We have a reasonably small, but friendly and sociable membership, and the club has been established since 1908.

We currently have the position of Assistant Greenkeeper available, the position commencing in early Spring 2026. We would like to invite hard working candidates for this position. The successful candidate would be reporting daily to the head Greenkeeper and will be expected to keep the golf course to the highest standard possible, with a high standard of attention to detail.

Candidates should be forward thinking, able to work on own initiative, but more importantly be able to work as a team alongside the management and existing green staff.

Candidates should possess:

• NVQ Level 2 or higher in Greenkeeping

• Pa1, Pa2 and Pa6 spraying qualifications

• Chainsaw operating licence (desirable but not essential)

• 2 years or more in greenkeeping experience

• Basic knowledge of golf and associated etiquette on course

• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt where necessary

• Hold a current UK driving licence

• Able to work on a rota basis for weekend cover – 40 hour week, but must be flexible
