During spring 2022, BIGGA undertook a major industry survey that sought to gather information about salaries and working conditions for greenkeepers throughout the UK.

BIGGA last undertook a greenkeeping industry survey in 2019, prior to the coronavirus pandemic. By comparing the results, we’re able to learn how the pandemic has impacted greenkeeping teams and whether the subsequent surge in the popularity of golf has seen increased investment in the staff at golf clubs.

With approximately 2,500 golf clubs in the United Kingdom, this represents a significant set of data that builds a comprehensive image of life at golf clubs in 2022.
