A golf day is being held on 26 September in support of the BIGGA Greenkeepers Benevolent Fund.

Inspired by Mal Mitchell’s incredible efforts in hosting a golf day for the charity in 2017, another event is taking place this year at Penn Golf Club in Wolverhampton.

Course Manager Tim Johnson, who himself has a proud history of raising funds and awareness of the BIGGA Benevolent Fund, will host the event.

With a shotgun start at 12noon, the event costs £160 for a team of four and all proceeds go to the BIGGA Benevolent Fund.

Shaun Anderson of Piperdam received support from the BIGGA Benevolent Fund

Shaun Anderson of Piperdam received assistance from the BIGGA Benevolent Fund when he was diagnosed with cancer and underwent chemotherapy.

"BIGGA was amazing in supporting me during my fight against cancer and the guys down at BIGGA HQ sorted out the help I received from the Benevolent Fund within just a couple of days. This grant was essential for helping pay the car parking charges and other costs that soon mount up.

"The support they gave my and my family was priceless."

BIGGA is appealing for partners and supporters to help us make the event a success, so get in contact if you would like to be involved.

The BIGGA Greenkeepers Benevolent Fund was launched in January 2014 and exists to assist current and past members and their dependants who are in need of financial and practical support during difficult times.
