What lies beneath

8 June 2023 Video - Webinar

Shedding light into the mysterious world of soil, this presentation will look at how to manipulate and use the biology in your soil to your advantage. Given the key role that soil plays in plant growth and the importance of healthy turf to a good game of golf or football, it makes sense that we should understand more about our soils and how to get the best out of them. The presentation will discuss the relationships between plants, soil, microorganisms and management practices. We look at recent research in soil biology and provide suggestions on how to
include biological solutions in your management practices.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify key organisms in soil biology
  • Identify impact of different management practices on soil biology
  • Determine suitable biological solutions
