Nature Links Seminar
Nature Links Seminar
Lewes Golf Club, Chapel Hill, Lewes, BN7 2BB
27 September 2023
This event brings golf club owners, managers and head greenkeepers together to discuss what clubs in and around the Weald To Waves nature corridor through East and West Sussex are doing for nature. This is the first time clubs have been invited to come together to discuss the nature crisis and we are delighted by the response.
Speakers on the day include:
- A presentation from Pyecombe Golf Club, which has a long track record of nature restoration,
- Talks from Buglife and RSPB experts on the significant difference golf clubs can make for pollinators and larger species recovery,
- A tour of Lewes Golf Course to see the measures that have been taken,
- Quick wins and money saving measures that help both nature and club finances.
The event is set to be well-attended, including representatives from clubs, England Golf, BIGGA, the South Downs National Park and the Fairways Foundation. BIGGA has also confirmed that they will be awarding CPD credits to members who attend.
The seminar will be informal with lots of opportunities to chat with other clubs about what they are doing in this area, look at the business benefits and explore funding opportunities for clubs interested in doing what they can for nature recovery.
A representative from each club in the area is encouraged to join us and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Lewes.
