Course Manager
Runcorn Golf Club has a proud history and is seeking an individual to lead a team as Course Manager you will play an integral role in the continued development of the golf course, team, and its facilities.
Candidates should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and possess good communication skills. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an excellent understanding of greenkeeping practices based on sound agronomic principles, a good understanding of Health and Safety protocols in the workplace and an ability to plan, organise and monitor daily operations.
Qualifications and Key Skills required:
- Minimum 5 years’ greenkeeping experience (post apprenticeship)
- Qualified to a NVQ level 3 or working towards. (Might consider NVQ level 2 if the person is willing to continue further training whist working at Runcorn)
- PA1, PA2 & PA6 qualifications
- Strong work ethic and standards of presentation
- Confidence to lead and motivate a team
- An excellent and progressive understanding of greenkeeping practices
- Knowledge of Irrigation systems and repair skills
- Golf Course renovation and construction experience
- Proficiency in management and the operating of a fleet of modern golf course equipment
- A good understanding of the game of golf
- The ability to provide informative regular effective communications via social media and our members hubs and forums. (training provided with support)
- Positive can-do, team-player attitude
- Reliable, honest, and trustworthy
- Assist and manage along with the General Manager the Clubs financial budgets and Spend within the Course.
- Operate all mechanical equipment in a safe and careful manner always adhering to the health and safety measures required for each piece of equipment. Ensuring that all machinery is in good working order.
- Chainsaw Training and certification (not essential)
- Work with outside contractors arrange quotations and work schedules within the prescribed budgets
- Working on strategic planning and budgets with the Course Management Team
- Manage and motivate the volunteers and members support team
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust maintenance practices accordingly
- Liaise with the General Manager and Golf Professional over key matters affecting the course and staff
Role & Remuneration:
- Full time - 40 Hours per week (Mon-Fri) plus weekend and bank holiday working on a rota basis (the club are working on a flexible summer and winter hour program that will suit the Business by agreement you will be part of that set up process) you will be paid monthly by Bank Transfer.
- Management role - Participate in department and club operational meetings.
