Waterville Golf Links, founded in 1889, is a world-renowned links course located in the south-west of County Kerry. The Waterville Golf Links complex comprises an 18-hole links course, practice range and three practice putting greens, plus a practice range, short-game area, and putting green complex at our nearby 5-star accommodation at Waterville House.
Waterville Golf Links is host to the world-renowned Father and Son tournament and is consistently ranked as one of the best links courses in the world.
Due to the impending promotion of our current Links Superintendent to the role of General Manager, the Links wishes to recruit a dynamic individual to fill the role of Links Superintendent. The remit of the position will be to continue to develop the standards of excellence in management and presentation of the links course and the ancillary facilities at Waterville House.
Applicants will, as a minimum, be expected to demonstrate a proven track record of the following:
- High standards of greenkeeping, course management and course presentation
- Excellent management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Project and budgetary control
- Up to date knowledge of greenkeeping techniques including, but not limited to, environmental, horticultural and safety requirements
The candidate should be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or HND or similar, and have PA1, 2 and 6A spraying certificates.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a team of twelve, a modern greenkeeping complex, including associated machinery and irrigation.
Previous experience as a Superintendent/Head Greenkeeper is desirable, but not essential, and it would be advantageous to have experience of working on a links course.
