About Wick Golf Club:
 
Wick Golf Club, nestled along the stunning Sinclair Bay and located just 3 miles north of the town of Wick, is one of Scotland's oldest and most scenic golf courses and the oldest club in the Highlands. The course has been redesigned by the great John Sutherland “secretary of Royal Dornoch GC” The course is also a proud part of the North Coast 500 (NC500) route, attracting golfers and tourists from around the world.

 

Role Overview:
 
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Greenkeeper to join our team, be able to manage and give guidance to the full time helper. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our course, ensuring it remains in top condition for members and visitors alike. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique coastal environment, contributing to the legacy of a historic course and to put your own ideas/suggestions into fruition to develop the course to its true potiental.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and turf care
  • Manage the irrigation system to ensure the course remains in optimal condition
  • Carry out landscaping duties to enhance the course's natural beauty
  •  Identify and control pests, weeds, and turf diseases
  • Operate and maintain greenkeeping machinery and tools
  • Assist in the preparation of the course for competitions and events
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in greenkeeping or grounds maintenance is essential 
  • Strong knowledge of turf management practices
  • Ability to operate a variety of turf equipment
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
  • A team player with a proactive attitude
