Discovering Winter Hill for the first time is like uncovering a hidden treasure. Built on fast-draining terrain, it boasts exceptional views over Cookham, the River Thames and the famous Cliveden.
Played at its longest, the course is 6,397 yards in length with a par of 72. 

You will be keen to deliver a first-rate experience through focus on the servicing & maintenance of our Championship golf course, pathways and equipment. 

Job Requirements

An outdoor role, which would suit an active person with a keen interest in golf. A desire to learn and develop within this field is essential, along with the ability to work autonomously.

To work as part of the Golf Club team to deliver a first-rate experience through focus on the servicing & maintenance of the golf course, pathways and equipment. To add value to the efficient and profitable running of the golf club in order to achieve your business and personal objectives, along with those of your team.

You will have to demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to tasks and use skills and knowledge to support and train. Work in other areas of the hotel, both front of house and behind the scenes, as requested by hotel management.

Your duties will include:

Customer facing duties

  • To be a brand ambassador by being a warm and friendly Partner who provides a consistently outstanding customer experience that is unrivalled in the marketplace.
  • To meet all legislative requirements for your home department and other areas of the club/ hotel that you may work across.
  • Deliver agreed key performance measures for your department.
  • To resolve customer queries or complaints as the first point of contact.

Sales focused duties

  • Where applicable, achieve sales targets by actively promoting the golf club offer and upselling where possible.
  • Offer advice and recommendations based on member requirements.

Internal duties

  • Sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to develop the golf club performance.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to support across other areas of the golf club and hotel when required.

Profit maximising duties

  • Carry out stock control processes to manage wastage and minimise loss.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement and greater efficiency.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 Greenkeeping
  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Good communication skills

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3
  • Sports Turf Management
  • PA1, PA2, PA6, Spray Certificate
  • CS31, CS35, Chainsaw Certificate
  • Relevant Greenkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of Machinery Maintenance
