Established in 1905, Llanishen Golf Club is a successful golf club that now has a 2 year waiting list for membership. Greens machinery has been upgraded with the vast majority under 4 years old, with Toro as the preferred supplier. The 18-hole private members course is across 75 acres of land, with spectacular views across Cardiff and the Bristol Channel.

We are looking to recruit a full-time permanent Greenkeeper to join our team of 5. You will support the Deputy and Head Greenkeeper in the maintenance and development of the golf course and facilities.

The role will consist of cutting tees, greens, surrounds and fairways, preparing and maintaining the golf course including aerating and applying top-dressing and fertiliser. You will also assist in winter projects such as tee and bunker construction.

Working within a professional team, you will essentially be a person who is enthusiastic, committed to hard work and who sets and achieves the highest possible standards. You’ll be competent in equipment use and machinery operation.

You will be expected to work flexibly and be part of rota to cover weekend requirements.

We require you to have:

  • Ideally you will have at least 1-2 years' previous experience in a similar position. However, we would be willing to consider a newly qualified individual or someone looking for a career change, ready to accept re-training.
  • NVQ level 2 in sports turf would be advantage but not essential, although a willingness to learn is a must
  • Attention to detail and a passion to achieve excellent results
  • Team player
  •  Full clean driving licence
  •   Spraying qualifications PA1 and PA6 & Chainsaw qualifications are desirable but not essential


In return Llanishen Golf Club will offer a salary of up to £22k (dependant on qualifications and experience), Full Uniform & PPE provided, annual membership for BIGGA, further training and a pension of 5%.
