Deputy Head Greenkeeper
We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head Greenkeeper, to assist the Head Greenkeeper with the day-to-day running of the course.
Denton Golf Club is widely recognised as one of the best parkland golf courses in Manchester and the North West of England. It’s situated adjacent to A57 at its junction with the M60 and M67. These excellent transport links combined with our facilities make it a popular venue for societies and visitors. Built in 1909 by W J Leaver who was the professional at Worsley Golf Club, the course is mature, well kept, challenging and a pleasure to play.
The successful applicant will have:
- Substantial greenkeeping experience
- NVQ Level 3
- Spraying PA 1 / 2 / 6A
- Chainsaw CA 30 / 31 (desirable)
- Sound knowledge of machinery and irrigation
- Leadership and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of Health and Safety
The Golf Course is maintained to a very high standard so the role requires an individual who can apply their skills to all aspects of course management. You must be highly motivated and capable of inspiring the greenkeeping team. You will be passionate about your career, possess a flexible attitude and have a keen eye for detail. Applicant should be able to liaise with members' queries in a polite and professional manner when approached regarding course concerns.
Salary to be agreed on appointment. Interviews will be called subject to the number of successful candidates.
