After seven very successful years, our current Course Manager is making an exciting overseas move and leaves with our sincere thanks and best wishes. As a result, Temple Golf Club seeks to recruit an experienced Course Manager for our Willie Park Jr. designed chalk downland course in Berkshire.
We want to continue the significant improvements made during the past seven years and take further steps forward towards our vision to become one of the Top 100 Courses in England.
As well as managing our greenkeeping team and delivering an exceptional course with a high standard of presentation and playability consistently throughout the year, the Course Manager must share our vision and will be at the heart of achieving our strategic course objectives which include course development, possible design changes and tree and woodland management.
The Course Manager must be an effective communicator, willing to engage and interact with members via regular newsletters and by delivering on-course presentation evenings to a live audience or by webinar.
Reporting to the Secretary and the Chairman of Green, the applicant will need to have all the technical, leadership and financial skills normally required for this role. Applicants should be a minimum of HNC Level 5 or equivalent with PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates and a sound working knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace and on the course.
The ideal candidate will have experience of a chalk downland environment and an enthusiasm to manage it in balance with its natural surroundings. We are about to embark on GEO accreditation hence a knowledge of GEO would also be advantageous. In addition, the Course Manager should be a proficient and active golfer who can see the course from a player’s perspective.
Remuneration will be competitive for our area and an on-site three-bedroomed bungalow is a possibility according to needs.
