The club is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self motivated, qualified and
ambitious green-keeper to work with and assist the Head Greenkeeper and/or his
Deputy in accordance with the Club&rsquo;s Golf Course Maintenance and Health &amp;

course utilising the spectacular grounds of the Country Estate.</p><p>Reporting to and working closely with the General Manager, the Head Green-keeper
will have direct responsibility for presenting and maintaining the course and
immediate grounds on a day to day basis throughout the year including the supervision
of the Green-keeping team to ensure a first class product is available at all
times.</p><p>With an exceptional eye for detail, you will be able to
present an excellently manicured Golf course whilst always looking to improve
the product, you will be a good leader and work in a hands on manner with the
team, motivating and developing as you go. You will have good expertise in all
areas of turf grass science and golf course maintenance. You will be
comfortable with Health and Safety legislation and will ensure all relevant
paperwork and training is complete and up-to date. You will be responsible for

management throughout the greenkeeping profession a new role has been created and we are therefore searching for an
outstanding candidate to join our Learning and Development Department.</p><p>Learning
and Development is fundamental to the future success of BIGGA and its
members.  This role will be key in
developing, upholding and maintaining quality of the delivery of the Learning
and Development pathway for BIGGA members. The pathway is the key focus to
ensure that the high standards applied to greenkeeper education are understood
and acknowledged as the benchmark throughout the golf industry.</p><p>Successful
applicants should have a good knowledge of the sports turf education system, an
understanding of greenkeeping practices and possess good organisational,
written and verbal skills.  Attention to
detail, the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, good administration
skills, IT literacy and the ability to work on their own initiative are
required.</p><p>Reporting
to the Head of Learning and Development, the Executive will be instrumental in
the future of greenkeeper advancement.

</p><p><strong>Job Advert</strong></p><p>A new opportunity has arisen for a Head Greenkeeper
to manage the golf services at Caird Park and Campderdown
Country Park, this includes two 18 hole, one 9 hole and one pitch and putt
course.</p><p>You will be responsible for the planning, presentation and
maintenance of the courses to ensure there is efficient and effective delivery
of golf services.</p><p>You will be qualified to SVQ/NVQ level 3 in sports turf
maintenance or equivalent and have experience in managing staff, budgets
and have the knowledge and ability to implement Health &amp; Safety legislation.</p><p>You will also have experience of dealing with
customers, have good computer, planning and organisational skills and good
written and oral skills.</p><p>The ability to work weekends and some evenings and have a
driving licence is also required.</p><p><strong>JOB PURPOSE</strong></p><p>To manage the
  presentation and maintenance of the courses to ensure there is efficient and
  effective delivery of Golf Services. To assist the Golf &amp; Wildlife

  representatives and the general public</p><p><strong>MAIN DUTIES</strong></p><p>Co-ordinate and control the
  activities of Golf Course staff and monitor their progress against
  established and agreed objectives.</p><p>Plan, forecast and report on
  performance against budget and other performance indicators.</p><p>Manage all aspects of Agronomy
  and Horticulture practice including soft and hard landscaping, course set up,
  maintenance and redesign.</p><p>Plan, implement, instruct and
  monitor works carried out through any Service Level Agreement.</p><p>Develop Management, Maintenance
  and Environmental plans.</p><p>Manage the starter box
  operations, starting and ranging duties and associated systems and processes.</p><p>Manage and implement the Health and Safety policy and
  ensure that all duties performed are carried out with full regard to the
  safety of customers, visitors, contractors and other employees; work within
  the Health &amp; Safety, COSHH, Risk Assessment and HAVS Assessment
  guidelines at all times.</p><p>Manage the efficient and effective operation and safe
  handling of all chemicals used by staff and ensure that all staff are trained
  in the usage of such chemicals.</p><p>Maintain records of all greenkeeping activities; producing
  statistical information; preparation of reports for management.</p><p>Undertake &lsquo;hands on&rsquo; greenkeeping duties as required, including
  weekend and or evening working as required.</p><p>Liaise with Trade Union
  representatives as required.</p><p>Ensure the efficient deployment
  of material, equipment and staff resources in the interests of the efficiency
  of service and the quality control and monitoring of the same. Ensure plant
  and equipment is maintained within guidelines and is correctly maintained.</p><p>Liaise colleagues in Camperdown
  Wildlife Centre and provide assistance as required.</p><p>Ensure that there is compliance
  with all procedures, rules, relevant regulations and policies with particular
  attention to the Rules of Golf as set out by the Royal &amp; Ancient Society
  of Golfers.</p><p>Monitor the management and

Person</strong></p><p>You must demonstrate effective organisational
skills and the ability to use initiative. You will have a NVQ Level 2
Qualification. Clearly customer focused, with a passion for greenkeeping, and a
positive and progressive outlook. You will be flexible and able to work early
