First Assistant Greenkeeper

Princes Golf Club, founded in 1906 is a 27-hole Championship links in an idyllic coastal setting. A past open Championship venue, Princes will once again stage Open Final Qualifying from 2018-2022.

We are currently undergoing some exciting changes to one of the 9 holes (Himalayas). The course changes are designed by Mackenzie & Ebert who have recently made the changes at Turnberry and Royal Portrush.

We have a fantastic opening for a First Assistant Greenkeeper. This position is ideal for a motivated, ambitious and totally dedicated individual looking to further their career and help maintain the improvement of our championship links venue. Continued investment in the golf course and facilities means this is an exciting time to be a part of the future of a club with a great history.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Links Superintendent and Deputy. The candidate will be involved and have input in all aspects of golf course maintenance, project work and key elements of greenkeeping operations.

The following qualifications, experience and skills preferred:

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in greenkeeping
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Ability to show initiative especially in problem solving situations
  • Continued interest in personal and team development
  • Full Driving licence
  • Spraying Certificates PA 1, 2, 6a
  • Positive attitude with good communication skills
  • Irrigation system set up and maintenance experience
  • Capable operator of all Golf course machinery
